My Little Bobbleheads

Today we had a little indoor fun, as it is way to hot for Mommy to play outside very long. I had seen online that Toys R Us was having a Thomas the Train event, so even though John is a little past his Thomas obsession, we went to check it out. Luckily, it was free, because there was not much to see. The kids colored paper conductor hats and played with a train table for a minute. We had much more fun wandering around the store picking out things the kids want for their birthdays. I don't think they realize how far away their birthdays really are. Our favorite "find" was a huge magnifying glass. We had fun making each other look like bobbleheads.

After Toys R Us we headed to the bowling alley to use our free bowling coupons. The kids racked up impressive scores of in the range of 45-61. It came as no surprise that Natalie wouldn't wear the bowling shoes. They did not match her dress. They were green!! So she bowled in socks, while I crossed my fingers that she wouldn't drop the ball and break her toe. The excitement of bowling was soon lost on her when she realized the slippery floor and socks made for the perfect place to practice her spins and splits. Luckily there was only one other person there bowling, and judging by her scores that rivaled the kids, we weren't disturbing some professional out for a day of quiet practice.

Interesting conversation while having our nutritious lunch of corndogs at the bowling alley.

John: Why do we always have milk at dinner?

Me: Because it's healthy.

John: I know where milk comes from. A cow.

Me: Yep.

Rebecca: Yeah, they pee it out!

Me: Uhhh....no they don't.

Natalie: Does the farmer know that?

Tomorrow I am taking the kids to a baseball game. 3 kids, 1:00 game, in right field with no shade, while under a heat advisory...this should be interesting.
